Sophomore Jake Saville put Cortland on the scoreboard early in the third period

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Luke Moodie scored two goals and added an assist as the nationally top-ranked Oswego men's hockey team skated past Cortland, 5-2, Friday night in SUNYAC action. The Red Dragons dropped to 7-15 overall and 4-9 in the conference, and Oswego increased its winning streak to 20 games to improve to 21-1 and 13-0.

Sophomore Jake Saville (Bellingham, WA/Marquette Rangers) and freshman Chris Kaleta (Angola/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) scored goals for the Red Dragons. Senior Gerard Heinz (Kings Park/ NY Apple Core), sophomores Joey Christiano (Rochester/Port Hope Predators) and Corey John (Albany/SUNY Plattsburgh) and freshman Dave Williams (Mississauga, ON/Port Hope Predators) each recorded an assist. Sophomore Brittan Kuhlman (Elkhorn, NE/Winnipeg Saints) started in goal and made 17 saves through the first two periods. Freshman Doug Danzi (Nesconset/New Jersey Rockets) stopped 15 shots over the final 20 minutes.

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Freshman Brett Waters (Uxbridge, ON/Markham Waxers) scored a power-play goal with four minutes, 47 seconds remaining in the third period to lead the Potsdam men's hockey team to a 3-1 win over Cortland Saturday night in SUNYAC action. The Red Dragons dropped to 7-14 overall and 4-8 in the conference, while the Bears improved to 8-10-2 and 4-7-1.

Senior Gerard Heinz (Kings Park/NY Apple Core) and freshman Mike Lysyj (Hillsborough, NJ/South Shore Kings) scored Cortland's goals. Juniors Justin Porpora (Hauppauge/NY Bobcats) and Jarrett Gold (East Setauket/NY Bobcats) and sophomores Ryan Markell (Columbus, OH/Ohio St.) and Joey Christiano (Rochester/Port Hope Predators) each registered an assist. Freshman goalie Doug Danzi (Nesconset/New Jersey Rockets) made 42 saves.

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Four different players scored goals as the nationally fourth-ranked Plattsburgh men's hockey team defeated Cortland, 4-1, Friday night in SUNYAC action at Alumni Arena.

Junior Jarrett Gold (East Setauket/NY Bobcats) scored his team-high 13th goal of the season for the Red Dragons (7-13 overall, 4-7 SUNYAC), and senior Justin Porpora (Hauppauge/NY Bobcats) and sophomore Alex Arthur (Portland, ME/Boston Bulldogs) each recorded an assist. Sophomore goalie Mike Reilly (New York/Bismarck Bobcats) stopped 23 shots and allowed three goals before being pulled for an extra skater late in the game.

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Four different players scored goals as the Cortland men's hockey team defeated Buffalo St., 4-2, Friday night in SUNYAC action at Alumni Arena. The Red Dragons improved to 7-12 0verall and 4-6 in the conference with the win, while the Bengals fell to 6-12-1 and 2-8.

Freshman Chris Kaleta (Angola/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) led Cortland with a goal and an assist. Junior Jarrett Gold (East Setauket/NY Bobcats) and sophomores Jake Saville (Bellingham, WA/Marquette Rangers) and Alex Arthur (Portland, ME/Boston Bulldogs) each scored a goal. Freshman Mike Lysyj (Hillsborough, NJ/South Shore Kings) added two assists, and five other players picked up one assist apiece. Sophomore goalie Mike Reilly (New York/Bismarck Bobcats) made 18 saves.

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Sophomore goalie Kody Van Rentergem (Leduc, AB/Brooks Jr. A) stopped all 21 shots he faced and junior Jordan Oye (Richmond, BC/Brampton Jr. A) led the offense with two goals as the Fredonia St. men's hockey team defeated Cortland, 5-0, in SUNYAC action Friday night at Alumni Arena. With the loss, the Red Dragons fell to 6-12 overall and 3-6 in the conference. The Blue Devils posted their eighth consecutive win and improved to 14-4 and 6-3.

Sophomore goalie Brittan Kuhlman (Elkhorn, NE/Winnipeg Saints) turned aside 38 shots for Cortland.

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The nationally sixth-ranked Elmira men's hockey team scored three third-period goals and defeated Cortland, 3-0, Saturday night in non-conference action at Alumni Arena.

For Cortland (6-11), sophomore goalie Brittan Kuhlman (Elkhorn, NE/Winnipeg Saints) made 30 saves and allowed two goals in 58 minutes, 58 seconds of action. The Red Dragons played with an empty for 1:02 late in the game and allowed one goal in that span.

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Sophomore Corey John (Albany/SUNY Plattsburgh) had a goal and three assists and senior Gerard Heinz (Kings Park/NY Apple Core) recorded a goal and two assists to lead the Cortland men's hockey team to a 5-4 win versus Lebanon Valley Tuesday night at Alumni Arena in non-conference action. The Red Dragons improved to 6-10 with the victory, while the Flying Dutchmen remained winless on the season at 0-15.

UTICA, N.Y. – The Utica men's hockey team scored four unanswered goals over the final two periods and defeated visiting Cortland, 4-2, Saturday night in non-conference action. The Red Dragons dropped to 5-10 on the season, while the Pioneers improved to 5-6-3.

Sophomore Jake Saville (Bellingham, WA/Marquette Rangers) and freshman Mike Lysyj (Hillsborough, NJ/South Shore Kings) netted Cortland's goals.

RYE, N.Y. – Scott Hudson scored 36 seconds into overtime to give host Manhattanville College a 5-4 non-league victory over Cortland at the Playland Ice Casino. The Valiants won their sixth straight game and are 11-4 on the season. Cortland drops to 5-9 with its fourth one-goal loss of the season, including two in overtime.

Junior Justin Porpora (Hauppauge/NY Bobcats) led the Red Dragons with a goal and two assists. Junior Jarrett Gold (East Setauket/NY Bobcats) and senior Patrick Palmisano (Ann Arbor, MI/Bay State Breakers) each finished with a goal and an assist and sophomore Corey John (Albany/SUNY Plattsburgh), a transfer from Plattsburgh, scored once in his Cortland debut. Freshman Doug Danzi (Nesconset/New Jersey Rockets) made 26 saves.

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Sophomore Matthew Valois (Ottawa, ON/Brockville Braves) scored two goals and assisted on two others as the defending Division III national champion Neumann men's hockey team defeated Cortland, 5-2, Saturday afternoon to sweep the two-game weekend series. The Red Dragons fell to 5-8 with the loss, while the Knights improved to 7-4-2.

Senior Patrick Palmisano (Ann Arbor, MI/Bay State Breakers) and sophomore Ryan Markell (Columbus, ON/Ohio St.) scored Cortland's goals. Junior Jarrett Gold (East Setauket/NY Bobcats) and sophomore Joey Christiano (Rochester/Port Hope Predators) each registered assists. Sophomore goalie Brittan Kuhlman (Elkhorn, NE/Winnipeg Saints) made 25 saves.
