The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has recognized 92 SUNY Cortland fall sports student-athletes on its All-Academic and Commissioner's List teams for the 2009 season.

Athletes earn a spot on the All-Academic LIst by recording at least a 3.3 grade point average during the most recent semester and are chosen to the Commissioner's List if they have at least a cumulative 3.3 grade point average over the past three semesters combined. Recipients must be varsity athletes who completed the entire season.

SUNY Cortland men’s soccer senior forward Harald Gracholski (Memel, Germany/Hermano Zudermano) has been selected to the 2009 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Upstate New York all-star second team.

Gracholski has also been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III All-East Region third team.

Three members of the SUNY Cortland men’s soccer team have been chosen to the 2009 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) all-league team. Senior forward Harald Gracholski (Memel, Germany/Hermano Zudermano) was named to the all-conference first team, while junior forward Steve Bartkowski (Buffalo/Kenmore East) and junior midfielder Matt Kutzer (Fayetteville/Fayetteville-Manlius) were third-team selections.

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The SUNY Cortland men's soccer team fell to Oneonta 4-3 on penalty kicks in the SUNYAC Quarterfinals after finishing regulation play and two overtime periods with a scoreless tie. With the tie, the Red Dragons close their season with a final record of 5-9-3, while Oneonta advances to the SUNYAC semifinals with a record of 12-4-2.

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The New Paltz men's soccer team scored two goals in each half and defeated Cortland, 4-2, Saturday afternoon in SUNYAC action. Despite the loss, the Red Dragons (5-9-2, 4-4-1 SUNYAC) earned the fifth seed in the conference tournament and will travel to fourth-seeded Oneonta for a quarterfinal game on Saturday, Oct. 31. The Hawks improved to 7-9-2 overall and 2-7 in the conference.

For Cortland, juniors Andrew Schwert (Buffalo/West Seneca East) and Steve Bartkowski (Buffalo/Kenmore East) each scored a goal, while senior Logan Keeney (Virgil/Cortland) and sophomore Lukas Wear (South Salem/John John-Cross River) collected one assist apiece. Graduate student Steve Axtell (Franklin/Sidney) made one save.

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Senior Harald Gracholski (Memel, Germany/Hermano Zudermano) scored two first-half goals to lead the Cortland men's soccer team to a 2-1 win versus Oneonta Friday afternoon at the Stadium Complex. With the win, the host Red Dragons improved to 5-8-2 overall and 4-3-1 in the SUNYAC and clinched a playoff spot in the conference tournament. Cortland is currently in a four-way tie for third place in the league with Oneonta, Geneseo and Oswego and holds the tiebreaker advantage on each team. Cortland can clinch third place in the conference and host a quarterfinal game next Saturday with a win versus New Paltz on Saturday. Oneonta dropped to 10-4-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the SUNYAC with the setback.

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Brockport men's soccer team scored a pair of first-half goals and held on for a 2-1 win over Cortland Saturday night in SUNYAC action at the SUNYAC Cortland Stadium Complex. The Red Dragons fell to 4-8-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the conference with the setback, and the Golden Eagles improved to 6-4-2 and 5-2.

Senior Harald Gracholski (Memel, Germany/Hermano Zudermano) scored his team-high ninth goal for Cortland, and senior Mark Gunsch (Poughkeepsie/Arlington) and junior Andrew Schwert (Buffalo/West Seneca East) each recorded an assist. Sophomore goalie Erik Shum (Carmel/Kennedy) registered three saves, all in the second half.

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Cortland men's soccer team scored a pair of second-half goals and defeated Geneseo, 2-0, in SUNYAC action Friday night at the Stadium Complex. The Red Dragons improved to 4-7-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the conference with the win, while the Knights fell to 7-4-1 and 4-2.

For Cortland, sophomore Lukas Wear (South Salem/John Jay-Cross River) and senior Harald Gracholski (Memel, Germany/Hermano Zudermano) each scored a goal, and juniors Steve Bartkowski (Buffalo/Kenmore East) and Andrew Schwert (Buffalo/West Seneca East) collected one assist apiece. Graduate student Steve Axtell (Franklin/Sidney) made six saves in goal, including several key stops in the second half.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Senior Harald Gracholski (Memel, Germany/Hermano Zudermano) scored an early first-half goal and Cortland held off Buffalo St. for a 1-0 victory Saturday afternoon in SUNYAC men's soccer action. The Red Dragons raised their record to 3-7-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the league, while the Bengals dropped to 5-6-1 and 1-3-1.

Gracholski scored what proved to be the game winner in the eighth minute. Sophomore Ben Rowell (Syracuse/East Syracuse-Minoa) fed a pass into the box where Gracholski got off a quick one timer and netted his team-high seventh goal of the season.
