FREDONIA, N.Y. – Cortland earned dual-meet victories over Hartwick (119-118), Oneonta (153-87) and Fredonia (128-115) in a four-team meet hosted by Fredonia. The meet was conducted in an invitational style but was scored as separate duals between the schools. The Red Dragons conclude their dual season with an 11-4 record.
Senior Kristin Barnoski (Stanley/Marcus Whitman) won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.43 seconds and senior Katie Molzan (Plattsburgh/Peru) was the winner in the 100-yard freestyle in 56.31 seconds. Freshman Jessica Evans (Hamburg), freshman Molly Miller (Eden), freshman Katherine Harris (Long Beach) and Barnoski took top honors in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:44.43)
01.23 | Women's Swimming and Diving
TROY, N.Y. – The Cortland women's swimming and diving team finished second out of five schools at the RPI Invitational. The Red Dragons, who had won the team title the previous three years, finished with a score of 553.5 points. RPI won the title with 624.5 points, followed by Cortland, Oneonta (383), William Smith (366) and Skidmore (268).
The meet was also scored as duals between each competing school. Cortland lost to RPI (125.5-117.5) and defeated Oneonta (156-85), William Smith (181-60) and Skidmore (179-57) to improve to 8-4 on the season.
01.22 | Women's Swimming and Diving
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Freshman Abigail MacDonald (East Amherst/Williamsville North) finished first in three events and senior Taylor Houseman (Rushford/Wellsville) won two races as Cortland defeated New Paltz, 152-130, in a dual meet at Holsten Pool. The Red Dragons now have a 5-3 dual record entering their competition Saturday at the RPI Invitational.
MacDonald won the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.26) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:13.48). She also turned in the best time as an exhibition entry in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.22). Houseman won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.59) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:29.57).

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Three Red Dragons posted two individual victories each as Cortland defeated visiting Oswego, 165.5-133.5. With the win, Cortland is now 4-3 in dual-meet action this season.
Senior Krista Bergquist (West Islip) won the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.92) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.45). Senior Taylor Houseman (Rushford/Wellsville) finished first in both breaststroke races, covering the 100-yard race in 1:09.04 and the 200-yard race in 2:29.50. Senior Kristin Barnoski (Stanley/Marcus Whitman) was victorious in the 50-yard freestyle (25.68) and 100-yard freestyle (56.60).

SUNY Cortland senior Kristin Barnoski (Stanley/Marcus Whitman) has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women’s Swimmer of the Week for the week ending Jan. 10.
Barnoski won two events and anchored two winning relays in Cortland’s 165-135 dual-meet win over Rochester last Friday. She won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.61 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in 56.97 seconds.

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Senior Kristin Barnoski (Stanley/Marcus Whitman) won two freestyle events and anchored a pair of winning relays as Cortland defeated the University of Rochester, 165-135, in dual-meet action. The Red Dragons evened their season record at 3-3 and the Yellowjackets are now 2-5.
Barnoski won the 50-yard freestyle (25.61) and 100-yard freestyle (56.97). She combined with senior Krista Bergquist (West Islip), senior Taylor Houseman (Rushford/Wellsville) and sophomore Michelle Seeger (Oneonta) to win the 400-yard medley relay (4:10.04) and joined senior Katie Molzan (Plattsburgh/Peru), Seeger and Bergquist on the winning 200-yard freestyle relay squad (1:43.57).

ONEONTA, N.Y. – Senior Kristin Barnoski (Stanley/Marcus Whitman) won two events and anchored the winning 200-yard medley relay team that set a pool record as the Red Dragons defeated host Oneonta, 145-95, in dual action.
Barnoski won the 50-yard freestyle (25.42) and 100-yard freestyle (56.88) for Cortland, which is now 2-3 in dual-meet action. She also combined with senior Krista Bergquist (West Islip), senior Taylor Houseman (Rushford/Wellsville) and sophomore Michelle Seeger (Oneonta) to win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:54.70. Bergquist took top honors and set a pool record in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.82), and she was runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle (26.33).

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – Cortland finished in fourth place out of 13 teams at the three-day ECAC Div. III Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships at the Nassau County Aquatic Center. The Red Dragons were one of four SUNYAC schools to finish in the top five. Geneseo won with 1,737 points, followed by Stevens Institute (N.J.) (1,643), New Paltz (1,143), Cortland (1,016) and Oneonta (581).
