Brittney Horton earned All-America honors for the first time and was on the all-region team for the third straight season

Michelle Gaufman (Wantagh/MacArthur) have both been named 2008 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III honorable mention women's volleyball All-Americans. Horton and Gaufman were also chosen as AVCA All-New York Region first-team players.
Gaufman is an honorable mention All-American and first-team all-region selection for the second straight season. Horton is a first-time All-American and a three-time all-region choice – she was honorable mention all-region as both a sophomore and junior.
Horton finished her Cortland career as the school's leader with 4,892 assists. She posted three straight seasons with more than 1,500 assists, and her 1,559 this fall are the second-best total by a Red Dragon behind her 1,577 in 2006. Horton also finished this season with 300 digs and a .252 attack percentage in 41 matches.
Gaufman set a school single-season record this autumn with 599 kills and ranks second in school history with 1,436 kills through three seasons. She averaged 4.1 kills per set and was the team's top starter with a .289 attack percentage. She also finished third on the team with 2.5 digs per game and ranks ninth in school history in that category with 1,366. Gaufman recorded double-figure kills in 36 of 41 matches this season, including 20 or more eight times.
Cortland finished the season with a 30-11 record, reaching the 30-win plateau for the fifth time in the last six years.
