Ryan Heath (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) and junior
Mike Robinson (Alexandria, VA/Thomas Edison) have been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's Lacrosse Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively, for the week ending April 6. In addition, Robinson was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Upstate New York Goalie of the Week, while Heath was chosen as the ECAC Upstate Co-Player of the Week.
Heath scored 15 points on six goals and nine assists in two games to lead the nationally fourth-ranked Red Dragons to a pair of wins last week. In a 21-5 victory versus 11th-ranked Nazareth, Heath recorded a career-high 10 points on five goals and five assists and became the 16th player in school history to reach 100 career goals. He followed up with a goal and four assists in a 21-7 triumph over Plattsburgh in Cortland's SUNYAC opener. Heath currently leads the Red Dragons (7-1, 1-0) in points (45), assists (23) and is second in goals (22).
Robinson, who also received the award for the week ending March 23, earned two wins in the cage last week. He made six saves and allowed five goals in 45:42 in the win versus Nazareth and stopped five shots and surrendered four goals through three quarters in the victory over Plattsburgh. For the two games, Robinson had a 5.95 GAA and a 55.0 save percentage. His season numbers include a 5-1 record with a 6.56 GAA and a 63.4 save percentage.
