Gracholski's First-Half Goal Enough in 1-0 Win at Buffalo St.

Senior Harald Gracholski's team-high seventh goal was the game winner
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Senior Harald Gracholski (Memel, Germany/Hermano Zudermano) scored an early first-half goal and Cortland held off Buffalo St. for a 1-0 victory Saturday afternoon in SUNYAC men's soccer action. The Red Dragons raised their record to 3-7-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the league, while the Bengals dropped to 5-6-1 and 1-3-1.

Gracholski scored what proved to be the game winner in the eighth minute. Sophomore Ben Rowell (Syracuse/East Syracuse-Minoa) fed a pass into the box where Gracholski got off a quick one timer and netted his team-high seventh goal of the season.

The Bengals produced numerous scoring chances in the second half but could not beat Cortland sophomore goalie Erik Shum (Carmel/Kennedy), who stopped seven shots in the game, including five in the second 45 minutes of play. Bengal goalie Brian Dudek recorded two saves.
