SUNY Cortland sophomore goalie Erik Shum (Carmel/Kennedy) has been selected as both the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's Soccer Player of the Week and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Upstate Division III Co-Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 11.

Shum recorded two shutouts on the road for the Red Dragons last weekend. Making just his second and third starts of the season, Shum made 10 saves in 110 minutes in a 0-0 tie Friday night at Fredonia, followed by seven saves the next afternoon in a 1-0 win at Buffalo State.

Shum has a 0.54 goals against average and a .929 save percentage in four appearances this fall.
