Bridgette DeSantis (Schenectady/Mohonasen) and junior goalie
Pam Monnier (Northport) have been selected to the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III All-East Region team. DeSantis was named to the all-region first team, while Monnier was chosen to the third team.
DeSantis led the Red Dragons with seven goals and four assists for 18 points in 20 games. She scored three game-winning goals, including both goals in a 2-0 win over Oswego, and assisted on game-winning goals in a 1-0 win at Brockport and a 2-1 victory at Oneonta.
Monnier finished with an 11-5-3 record, a 0.73 goals against average and a .818 save percentage in 19 games. She posted seven solo shutouts and combined with a teammate on two others. At one point during the season, Monnier played more than 491 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal.
Cortland finished the year with an 12-5-3 record – its fourth season of at least 10 victories in the last five years.
