SUNY Cortland freshman Nikki Schafer (Troy/Columbia) has been chosen as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 13.

Schafer won the 55-meter hurdles with an ECAC-qualifying time of 8.81 seconds (8.72 in prelims) at the St. Lawrence Holiday Relays last Saturday. She also finished fourth in the high jump (1.48 meters - 4' 10.25") and was part of a second-place 4x200-meter relay team that qualified for ECACs in 1:50.34.
