Cortland sophomore midfielder Chris DeLuca (Sayville) has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending Mar. 8.

DeLuca won all 11 faceoffs he took through three quarters and scooped up six ground balls in a 16-4 win versus Montclair St. in Cortland's home opener last Wednesday. In a win versus second-ranked Gettysburg on Saturday, DeLuca scored three goals, collected five ground balls and won 9-of-13 faceoffs for the nationally second-ranked Red Dragons (3-0).

For the season, DeLuca has eight points on five goals and three assists, 15 ground balls and has won 32-of-38 (.842) faceoffs.
