Matt Hipenbecker (Mountain Lakes, NJ) have been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's Lacrosse Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively, for the week ending March 29.
In addition, Hipenbecker has been chosen as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Upstate New York Co-Defensive Player of the Week. He shares the award with RPI goalie Ryan DeJordy.
DeLuca earned Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. He recorded three goals and three assists, and won 12-of-17 faceoffs, in a 17-10 victory at Nazareth College on Wednesday. In an 11-6 victory over visiting RIT on Saturday, DeLuca notched an assist and won 15-of-18 faceoffs. He also totaled seven ground balls in each game.
Hipenbecker finished with a 6.76 goals against average and a .618 save percentage in Cortland's two victories. He stopped 10 shots and allowed seven goals in just over 55 minutes of action versus Nazareth. He made 11 saves in the win over RIT.
Cortland is 6-1 and was ranked seventh nationally in Division III at the end of last week.
