POTSDAM, N.Y. - The Potsdam women's ice hockey team scored three third-period goals to break a 1-1 tie and defeated Cortland, 4-1, in ECAC West action Friday night. The Red Dragons fell to 3-10 overall and 2-5 in the conference, while the Bears improved to 6-6-1 and 3-5.

Freshman Taylor Puckhaber (Lake Placid/NSA) netted Cortland's goal, while freshman Cara Latchum (Warrington, PA/Wyoming Seminary) recorded an assist. Sophomore goalie Katie Double (Farmington/Victor H.S.) made 15 saves.

Stephanie Simons led the Bears with a goal and two assists, Stephanie Malcolm had a goal and an assist and Kristine Faffley and Annmarie Lewis each scored a goal. Hilary Hitchman stopped 15 shots.
