CORTLAND, N.Y. – Cortland posted a season-high score in its 189.625-182.875 home dual-meet loss to Division I Cornell University.

Four different athletes won events for the visiting Big Red. Emily Santoro (Freehold, NJ/St. Rose) won vault with a 9.725 and Maddie Pearsall (LaGrange, IL/Lyon Township) took uneven bars with a 9.625. Melanie Standridge (West Chester, PA/Unionville) captured balance beam with a 9.85 and Brittany Howse (Deerfield, IL) was the floor exercise winner with a 9.725.

Cornell's McKenna Archer (Newport Beach, CA/Newport Harbor) was the vault runner-up (9.675) and Gabriella Sanguineti (San Juan, PR/Robinson School) finished second on uneven bars (9.55). Kim O'Donnell (Reading, MA/Reading Memorial) placed second on balance beam (9.50) and Santoro tied for second on floor exercise (9.65).

Cortland was led by senior Jenn Najuch (North Tonawanda), who tied for second on floor exercise with a 9.65 and finished third on balance beam with a 9.40. She also tied for sixth on vault with a 9.425.

Also for the Red Dragons, senior Chris Cate (Concord, NH) finished third on vault (9.55) and senior Christine Haungs (Derby/Lake Shore) was fourth on balance beam (9.25). Sophomore Ashley Fleming (Holbrook/Sachem East) finished fifth on floor exercise (9.50) and sixth on balance beam (9.175), senior Alyssa Neely (Allentown, PA/Parkland) tied for sixth on floor exercise (9.375) and senior Jessica Ruocco (Bayside/The Mary Louis Academy) finished fifth on uneven bars (9.40).

Haungs finished with a combined score of 36.475 as the lone all-around competitor of the afternoon.
