The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has named Cortland senior Gerard Heinz (Kings Park/New York Apple Core) as a second team all-conference selection. With the honor, Heinz becomes the first Red Dragon to earn all-conference accolades four times. He was a first team honoree as a freshman and sophomore and was tabbed as a second team selection as a junior. Cortland's only other three-time honoree was Matt Johnson, who was a first team selection from 1989-91.

Heinz was the third-leading scorer among defenseman with 12 points on three goals and nine assists in 16 league games this past season. He finished third on the team in overall scoring with 20 points on five goals and a team-high 15 assists. For his career, Heinz scored 76 points on 17 goals and 59 assists in 99 games.
