Kasey Cutler won uneven bars with a 9.30

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – Senior Christine Haungs (Derby/Lake Shore) finished in the top five in three events and junior Kasey Cutler (East Hampton, CT) won uneven bars during Cortland’s 185.30-183.30 dual-meet loss at Springfield College. Despite the loss, the Red Dragons posted a season-high score for the second straight week.

Three different athletes won events for the host Pride. Ericca Castagna captured vault (9.675), Audrey Lastra won balance beam (9.65) and Brittany Baglow won floor exercise (9.70).

Cutler took top honors on uneven bars with a 9.30, followed by sophomore teammate Cady Tinney (Nichols/Tioga Central) in second with a 9.20. Haungs finished second on balance beam with a 9.60, tied for fourth on floor exercise with a career-high 9.60 and placed fifth on vault with a 9.50. She finished with a combined score of 37.025 as the lone all-around competitor at the meet.

Senior Chris Cate (Concord, NH) earned runner-up honors on vault with a 9.575, while senior Jenn Najuch (North Tonawanda) tied for third with a 9.55. Najuch also tied Haungs for fourth on floor exercise with a 9.60. Sophomore Ashley Fleming (Holbrook/Sachem East) finished fourth on balance beam with a career-best 9.425. Freshman Amanda Recor (Lancaster), in her first competition of the season, placed sixth on beam with a 9.15.
