BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Cortland women's gymnastics team earned a berth into the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Division III Championships with a second-place finish at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championships, hosted by The College at Brockport. Cortland will be one of six teams competing at nationals March 26-27 at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass.

The top three teams at the seven-team ECAC meet qualify for nationals. Brockport repeated as ECAC champion with a score of 184.875. Cortland was a solid second with 184.10 and Springfield finished third at 182.775. Ursinus finished fourth (182.325), followed by Ithaca (180.125), Wilson (169.95) and Rhode Island College (154.75).

Cortland earned eight individual All-ECAC honors with top-six finishes, led by senior Jenn Najuch’s (North Tonawanda) victory on vault with a career-high 9.70. Najuch also tied for fifth place on floor exercise with a 9.675. Senior Christine Haungs (Derby/Lake Shore) earned three All-ECAC honors with her second-place finish on vault (9.625), a tie for second on floor exercise (9.725) and a tie for sixth in the all-around (36.575). Haungs matched her career high scores on both vault and floor exercise.

Junior Kasey Cutler (East Hampton, CT) tied for second place on uneven bars with a 9.275. Freshman Sarah Nadrowski (Buffalo/Kenmore East) picked up two All-ECAC honors with her fourth-place finish on balance beam (career-high 9.10) and tie for sixth with Haungs in the all-around with a 36.575. Nadrowski was competing in the all-around for just the second time this season.

The Red Dragons also notched eight additional top-12 finishes. Najuch tied for ninth on balance beam (9.00), junior Eli Roberge (Southington, CT) placed 10th on uneven bars (8.95) and Nadrowski and freshman Amanda Recor (Lancaster) tied for 10th place on vault, both with career-high scores of 9.50.

Senior Alyssa Neely (Allentown, PA/Parkland) and sophomore Cristina Speirs (Plainview/Plainview-Old Bethpage) tied for 11th place on balance beam, each with an 8.975. Senior Chris Cate (Concord, NH) finished 12th on vault (9.475) and junior Lauren Pytel (Naugatuck, CT/Holy Cross) tied for 12th on uneven bars (8.90).
