Alyssa Tretter won in straight sets at third singles

GENEVA, N.Y. – William Smith won all three doubles matches and five of the six singles contests to defeat visiting Cortland, 8-1, in a dual match.
Cortland’s lone victory came at third singles, where sophomore Alyssa Tretter (Batavia) posted a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Shari Damon. The Red Dragons also lost a tight match at second doubles when freshman Loraine Jelinek (Homer/home schooled) and sophomore Gabriela Medina (Rock Hill/Monticello) fell 9-8 to Remy Raevsky and Katie Serock.
For William Smith, Amanda Slack won at first singles and Melissa Stack was a winner at second singles. The two also teamed for a win at first doubles. Raevsky posted a win at fourth singles, Hallsey Leighton won at fifth singles and Jess McCue was victorious at sixth singles. In addition, Damon and McCue won at third doubles.
