NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The Cortland women’s tennis finished in second place out of eight schools at the New Paltz Women’s Tennis Tournament. The Red Dragons went 3-0 in pool play before losing, 5-2, to New Paltz in the championship match.
In pool play, Cortland defeated Brockport, 7-0, Western Connecticut St., 6-1, and Hunter, 5-2. New Paltz finished 3-0 in its pool with victories over Mt. St. Mary, St. Thomas Aquinas and Plattsburgh.
In addition to New Paltz’s win over Cortland for the team title, Hunter defeated Mt. St. Mary for third place, St. Thomas Aquinas beat Western Connecticut State for fifth place and Brockport won the seventh-place match over Plattsburgh.
No individual match results were recorded during the tournament.
