Cortland senior attackman
Brian Krol (Niskayuna) has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending May 2.
Krol helped lead the nationally fourth-ranked Red Dragons (13-2, 6-0 SUNYAC) to a pair of conference wins last week as Cortland wrapped up the SUNYAC regular-season title and the top seed for the postseason tournament.
In a 15-3 win at Oswego on Wednesday, Krol registered three goals and one assist with two ground balls. In Saturday's 17-8 victory versus Oneonta, he scored a game-high five goals and also scooped up three ground balls.
For the season, Krol leads Cortland in scoring with 45 points on a team-best 32 goals along with 13 assists. Cortland will host Potsdam in the SUNYAC semifinals on Wednesday, May 5, at 4 p.m.
