SUNY Cortland freshman Alexis Fairbanks (Apalachin/Owego Free Academy) has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending May 2.

Fairbanks placed third in the 800-meter run in 2:17.28 at the Cornell Outdoor Invitational last Saturday. She also was part of the winning 4x400-meter relay team that was clocked in 4:08.71.

Cortland will compete at the SUNYAC Championships May 7-8 at the College at Brockport.
