BRIDGEPORT, CONN. – The Sacred Heart women's hockey team scored four third-period goals to erase a 2-0 deficit and went on to a 4-2 win over Cortland Friday night in non-conference action. The Red Dragons fell to 1-10-2 with the loss. The Pioneers improved to 6-15.

Katie Double (Farmington/Victor H.S.) started in goal and made 36 saves before leaving with an injury midway through the third period. Freshman Sarah Ribarich (Farmingdale/N.J. Selects) stopped five shots in eight minutes, 48 seconds in her first collegiate action.
Megan Murphy led the Pioneers with two goals. Nicole Palazzo and Caitlin Gottwald each contributed a goal and an assist, and Lauren Fontaine chipped in with three assists. Alexius Schutt registered five saves.
Maddalena gave Corrtland a 1-0 lead at 4:46 of the second period off assists from Tomei and Rossi. Hakes then netted a short-handed goal at 15:19 of the second to make it a 2-0 game heading to the third period.
Palazzo scored on the power play at 2:22 of the third and Cortland's lead was 2-1. Murphy gave the Pioneers the lead with goals just 24 seconds apart at 16:13 and 16:37, with the first score coming with a two-player advantage and the second only seven seconds after the second penalty expired. Gottwald added an insurance goal on the power play at 18:41. The Red Dragons pulled Ribarich over the final minute but could generate a goal.
