OSWEGO, N.Y. – Freshman
Chris McBride (Northport) scored the second of his two goals six minutes, 27 seconds into overtime as the Cortland men's soccer team closed its season with a come-from-behind 3-2 win at Oswego Saturday afternoon in SUNYAC action. The Red Dragons (3-8-5 overall, 2-5-2 SUNYAC) tied an NCAA Div. III record with their ninth overtime game of the season. Allegheny College originally set the mark in 1996. The Lakers fell to 5-10-1 and 0-8-1 with the loss.

E.J. Reutemann (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) added a goal for Cortland, and sophomore
Sam Kirschenbaum (Oceanside) chipped in with an assist. Freshman goalie
Tim Beauvais (Hilton) made four saves.
Bryan Pacchiana and Brendan Beisner scored Oswego's goals with Mike Naab picking up an assist. Pat Breen started in goal, making one save in 41:56, before giving way to P.J. Goodwin, who stopped eight shots in 54:31.
The Lakers took an early 2-0 lead on goals from Pacchiana in the fifth minute and Beisner in the 22nd minute. McBride started Cortland's comeback in the 28th minute with a long-range goal, and Reutemann tied the game in the 42nd minute when he converted a penalty kick. Breen received a red card that led to the penalty kick to put Oswego down a player.
In the second half, the Lakers went down a second player in the 61st minute with another red card. Cortland couldn't capitalize on the two-player advantage until just past the midway point of overtime as Kirschenbaum assisted on McBride's game winner.
