CLINTON, N.Y. – Becky Cairns scored two goals and assisted on a third to lead the Hamilton women's ice hockey team to a 5-1 win versus visiting Cortland Tuesday night in non-conference action at Russell Sage Arena.

Sophomore Kellie Micillo Sayville/Suffolk PAL) scored Cortland's goal with juniors Ashley Meyer (New York/Sound Shore Warriors) and Maggie Giamo (Orchard Park/RIT) collecting assists. Junior goalie Katie Double (Farmington/Victor H.S.) made 41 saves for the Red Dragons (2-15-2).

Stephanie Miguel and Katie Zimmerman each recorded a goal and an assist for Hamilton (8-9), Christie Sharlow found the net once and Abby Runyon registered two assists. Becca Hazlett started in goal and stopped eight shots through the first two periods before giving way to Tori Bogen, who turned aside all nine shots she faced in the third period.

Micillo gave Cortland the lead three minutes, 29 seconds into the game when she knocked in a rebound past Hazlett, and the advantage held up until Cairns knotted the game with her first of the night just 16 seconds into the second period. Zimmerman gave the Continentals the lead for good with an even-strength goal at 11:43 of the second, and Miguel capped the period with a power-play goal at 16:48. Cairns netted her second of the game on the power play at 3:45 of the third, and Sharlow completed the scoring at 12:39
