CORTLAND, N.Y. – The 20th-ranked Cortland wrestling team earned four forfeits and won the other six bouts en route to a 45-0 win versus Oswego Wednesday night at Corey Gymnasium. The Red Dragons improved to 14-4-1 with the win, while the Lakers fell to 5-8.

Nationally seventh-ranked sophomore Corey James (Kingston) opened the match with an 8-2 decision at 285 pounds to improve to 23-2 on the season. After Oswego forfeited at 125 pounds, freshman Justin Hyde (Endicott/Union-Endicott) earned a 4-0 decision versus Oswego sophomore Omar Santiago (Huntington) at 133 pounds, and nationally fourth-ranked Cortland senior Aljamain Sterling (Huntington) recorded a 16-4 major decision at 141 pounds to raise his record to 21-3.

The Lakers forfeited at 149 pounds, and Cortland sophomore Troy Sterling (Huntington) registered a 10-2 major decision at 157 pounds, improving to 25-7. In the night's tightest bout, Cortland sophomore Jonathan Conroy (South Plainfield, NJ) held off a late flurry by Oswego senior Marc Collins (Farmington/Victor) and came away with an 8-7 win by earning a point on riding time. Conroy upped his record to 24-5 with the narrow win.

In between forfeit wins at 174 and 197 pounds, Cortland sophomore Will Parks (Shoreham/Longwood) concluded the action with an 8-0 major decision at 184 pounds and improved his record to 16-4.
