La CROSSE, WIS. – Cortland senior Dave Colagiovanni (Mahopac) finished fifth at 125 pounds and senior Aljamain Sterling (Uniondale) placed sixth at 141 pounds to earn All-America honors during the final day of competition at the NCAA Div. III Championships at The La Crosse Center.

Colagiovanni earned All-America honors for the first time with his fifth-place finish. He went 4-2 during the tournament, including a 2-1 record on Saturday. He won 6-1 in sudden-victory overtime versus Brandon Gauthier of Rhode Island College with a takedown and a near fall in the extra session. He lost to second-seeded Mark Kist of Wartburg, 8-0, but pinned fifth-seeded Riki Reynolds of Mount Union in the fifth-place match. Colagiovanni's only two losses in the tournament came to the top two seeds.

After going 3-1 on Friday, Sterling opened Saturday's action by defeating fifth-seeded Ryan Bridge of Stevens Institute, 4-2, with a takedown in the second sudden-victory overtime session. Sterling then lost 5-2 to sixth-seeded Kevin Donahue of Cornell College (Iowa) and dropped a 6-4 decision to fourth-seeded Chris Albright of York College (Pa.) in the fifth-place match.
