Sarah Nadrowski's career-high all-around score of 38.45 is the second highest in school history
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Cortland women's gymnastics team recorded a score of 188.625, the third-highest in school history, in a tri-match versus Division I foes Rutgers and Brown. Rutgers, the host school, finished first with a 192.375 and Brown was second with a 190.125.
Cortland's score is third in program history behind last year's 190.00 at the ECAC Div. III Championships and a 188.95 during the 2003-04 season.
Junior
Sarah Nadrowski (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) turned in a career-high 38.45 in the all-around for a second-place finish. The score is the second-best in school history behind Lindsey Marranca's 38.575 during the 2003-04 season. Nadrowksi tied for fourth on floor exercise with a 9.725 and balance beam with a 9.60, both season highs, and tied for eighth on uneven bars with a season-high 9.50.
Sophomore
Courtney Mangini (Dix Hills/Commack) won floor exercise in the field of 18 competitors with a career-high tying 9.825. She also placed fifth in the all-around with a 36.80.
Senior
Marissa Goodstein (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) and freshman
Elise Konikoff (Hamburg) were part of a tie for second on vault with scores of 9.725. Konikoff's effort is her career best in the event. Sophomore
Stephanie Sladky (East Islip) tied for fourth on floor exercise with Nadrowski with a 9.725, junior
Amanda Recor (Lancaster) finished sixth on balance beam with a season-high 9.575 and freshman
Meagan Phelan (River Vale, NJ/Pascack Regional) tied Nadrowski for eighth on uneven bars with a career-high 9.50.
Alexis Gunzelman won the all-around for Rutgers with a 38.75. She was also the individual champion on vault (9.80), uneven bars (9.90) and balance beam (9.85).
As a team, Cortland finished first on floor exercise with a 48.425 and was within a half point of both the Scarlet Knights and the Bears on vault with a 48.05.
Cortland travels to Ithaca next Saturday, Feb. 18, for the Harriett Marranca Invitational and will host Wilson College next Sunday, Feb. 19, in a 1 p.m. dual meet.
