CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Cortland women's gymnastics team posted a season-high score and the third-best score in school history in a close dual-meet loss to visiting Brockport. The Golden Eagles scored a 189.525 while the Red Dragons, competing in their final home meet of the season, finished with a score of 188.725.

Cortland claimed at least a share of first place in all four individual events. Senior Marissa Goodstein (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) won vault with a 9.725 and freshman Meagan Phelan (River Vale, NJ/Pascack Regional) won uneven bars with a career-best 9.575.

Freshman Elise Konikoff (Hamburg) tied for first on balance beam with a 9.65 and placed second behind Goodstein on vault with a 9.675. Sophomore Courtney Mangini (Dix Hills/Commack) won floor exercise with a 9.80.

Junior Amanda Recor (Lancaster) placed third on vault with a season-best 9.65 and was fourth on balance beam with a 9.525. Junior Sarah Nadrowski (Buffalo/Kenmore East) tied her season highs with third-place finishes on both uneven bars (9.50) and floor exercise (9.725). She tied for fourth on vault (9.625) and was second in the all-around (37.725). Mangini finished third in the all-around with a 36.95.

Junior Annelise Hoffman (Pine Plains/Stissing Mountain) finished fifth on balance beam with a career-high 9.475. Sophomore Kellie Ryan (Port Jefferson Station/Newfield) matched her career high with her sixth-place score of 9.575 on floor exercise.

Brockport's Elizabeth Levy won the all-around with a 38.05 and finished second on uneven bars with a 9.55. Colleen Chahbazi tied for first on balance beam (9.65) and Taylor Wierzba finished second on floor exercise (9.775).

Cortland will compete at Ithaca College in the final dual meet of the season next Saturday, March 3, at 1 p.m. The Red Dragons will also compete at the ECAC Div. III Championships at Ithaca College on March 10 and the NCGA Div. III national championships at Brockport March 23-24.
