SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - The Cortland women's gymnastics team posted a season-high score in its 187.525-185.35 dual-meet victory over host Springfield College. The Red Dragons won their Division III opener after starting the season with four duals versus Division I and Division II foes.

Senior Marissa Goodstein (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) won vault with a season-high score of 9.775 and freshman Meagan Phelan (River Vale, NJ/Pascack Regional) took top honors on uneven bars with a 9.325.

Senior Ashley Fleming (Holbrook/Sachem East) finished second on vault with a 9.55 and tied her career high with a fifth-place score of 9.425 on balance beam. Junior Sarah Nadrowski (Buffalo/Kenmore East) completed a top-three sweep for the Red Dragons on vault with a 9.475. She also finished third on uneven bars (9.30), fourth on balance beam (9.475), sixth on floor exercise (9.625) and second in the all-around (37.875).

Sophomore Courtney Mangini (Dix Hills/Commack) tied for second on balance beam with a season-best 9.50 and tied for second on floor exercise with a 9.675. She finished third in the all-around with a combined score of 37.00. Sophomore Stephanie Sladky (East Islip) was part of a three-way tie for second on floor with Mangini and Springfield's Carly Flynn with a 9.675.

Also for the Red Dragons, senior Cady Tinney (Nichols/Tioga Central) placed fourth on uneven bars (9.275) and freshman Elise Konikoff (Hamburg) finished sixth on balance beam (9.20).

Springfield's Brittany Baglow won balance beam with a 9.60 and floor exercise with a 9.775. She also finsihed first in the all-around with a 37.975. Abby Clark tied for second on balance beam with a 9.50 and Lauren Pocius placed second on uneven bars with a 9.325.

Cortland will compete next Saturday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m. at Division I Rutgers University. The meet will also feature Division I Brown University.
