The finalists have been announced for the 2011-12 SUNY Cortland C-Club Senior Male Athlete of the Year and Senior Female Athlete of the Year Awards. The winners will be recognized at the C-Club Athletics Awards Ceremony on Monday, April 30, at the Alumni Ice Arena.

The 2011-12 C-Club Senior Athlete of the Year Finalists are:

BILLY CASTRO, Football (Offensive Tackle)

Senior Year (2011): D3football.com Second Team All-American and First Team All-East Region...First Team All-ECAC South...First Team All-NJAC...D3 Football Senior Classic...Team averaged 34.7 points and 413.1 yards per game and allowed only nine sacks in 11 games...Team finished 9-2 and won ECAC Div. III Southeast Bowl.

Career: 2010: D3football.com Hon. Mention All-American and First Team All-East Region...First Team All-NJAC...Team finished 10-2, won NJAC title and advanced to NCAA Div. III second round...2009: Started all 11 games...Team played in ECAC Div. III Northwest Bowl...2008: Played in one contest...Team finished 11-2, won NJAC title and advanced to NCAA Div. III quarterfinals.

MATT JUNE, Baseball (Second Base)

Senior Year (2012 – through April 18): Batting .363 with eight doubles, one homer, 20 RBI, 16 walks and team highs of 12 steals and 36 runs scored...Has a .978 fielding percentage (three errors in 137 total chances)...Team is 24-7-1 and is ranked eighth in the ABCA Div. III national poll.

Career: (through April 18) Batting .363 with four homers, three triples, 29 doubles, 169 runs, 44 steals and 204 total hits...Seventh player in school history to reach career 200-hit mark...Ranks third in school history in runs and 13th in steals...2011: Third Team All-New York Region...First Team All-SUNYAC...SUNYAC All-Tournament Team...New York Region ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove winner...Team finished 36-10, won SUNYAC title and tied for ninth nationally...Batted .339 with 42 runs and 17 steals...2010: First Team All-New York Region...First Team All-SUNYAC...NCAA Div. DAN PITCHER, Football (Quarterback)

Mention All-American and First Team All-East Region...NJAC Offensive Player of the Year...Gagliardi Trophy (National Player of the Year) Finalist...First Team Capital One Academic All-American...ECAC Div. III Southeast Bowl Most Outstanding Player...Completed 197-of-317 passes (62.1 percent) for 2,712 yards and 31 touchdowns with only five interceptions...Set school single-season records for TD passes, passing efficiency rating (163.1) and total offense (2,951 yds.) and tied record for TD passes in a game (5)...Team finished 9-2 and won ECAC Div. III Southeast Bowl.

Career: Set school records for career TD passes (54) and consecutive games with TD pass (13)...2010: First Team All-NJAC...157-of-279 passing for 1,757 yds. and 18 touchdowns...Team finished 10-2, won NJAC title and advanced to NCAA Div. RYAN PERICOZZI, Track and Field (Pole Vault)

MIKE TOTA, Lacrosse (Attack)
