SUNY Cortland athletes are scheduled to compete in five men's events and two women's events at the NCAA Div. III Outdoor Track and Field Championships Thursday-Saturday, May 22-24, in Claremont, Calif.
In the men's meet, senior
Phill Wiltshire (Vestal) will compete in the 400-meter hurdles preliminaries Thursday at 5:25 p.m. (8:25 p.m. Eastern). The finals are Saturday at 4:55 p.m. (7:55 p.m. Eastern). Sophomore
Cody Amengual (West Babylon) will run in the 3,000-meter steeplechase prelims Thursday at 8:30 p.m. (11:30 p.m. Eastern), with the finals set for Saturday at 2:10 p.m. (5:10 p.m. Eastern).
The men's 4x400-meter relay team of junior
Eric Banks (Westbury), Wiltshire, sophomore
Stephan Linton (Roosevelt) and freshman
Neil Yodice (Northport) will run in the prelims Thursday at 9:15 p.m. (12:15 a.m. Eastern). The finals are Saturday at 6:30 p.m. (9:30 p.m. Eastern).
In men's field events, senior
Tomas Velasquez (Catskill) will compete in the long jump finals Thursday at 5:50 p.m. (8:50 p.m. Eastern) and senior
Will Razzano (Manorville/Riverhead) will compete in the triple jump finals Saturday at 12:50 p.m. (3:50 p.m. Eastern).
On the women's side, senior
Alyson Dalton (Sherrill/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) will run in the 10,000-meter finals Thursday at 6:20 p.m. (9:20 p.m. Eastern) and freshman
Taylor Hudson (Victor) will compete in the heptathlon Thursday and Friday. The first heptathlon event Thursday is the 100-meter hurdles at 2:30 p.m. (5:30 p.m. Eastern) and the first event on Friday is the long jump at 3 p.m. (6 p.m. Eastern).
The field in each individual event at nationals this year consists of the top 22 female performers and top 20 male performers. Each relay event consists of the top 16 declared teams.
