SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – The Cortland women's gymnastics team closed its regular-season schedule with a third-place finish in a quad meet hosted by Springfield College. The Red Dragons finished with a score of 188.425 to surpass the 188-point mark for the fourth straight meet. Division I Brown finished first with a 193.425, followed by Springfield (189.05), Cortland, and Rhode Island College (182.575).
 
McKenna Passalacqua (Whitesboro) posted two top-four finishes. She placed fourth on floor exercise with a career-high tying 9.725 and tied for fourth on balance beam with a 9.675, which tied her season best.
 
Rachel Filipski (Lancaster) tied for third on vault with a 9.70, with Bailey Gildemeyer (Liverpool/Cicero-North Syracuse) tying for fifth (9.675). Gildemeyer also finished sixth on floor (9.675) and tied for eighth on beam (9.60).
 
Sidney McConnell (Winchester, CA/Vista Murrieta) placed sixth on uneven bars with a 9.50. Meghan Cobb (Hobe Sound, FL/Clark Advanced Learning Ctr.) and Lily Szafranski (Williamsville/Williamsville South) tied for seventh on vault with scores of 9.60. Cobb's score matched her season high, and she also finished 10th on bars with a 9.35. Also for the Red Dragons, Tara Sweeney (Staten Island/Notre Dame Academy) tied for eighth on beam with a career-high 9.60.
 
Brown's Jorden Mitchell won vault (9.775), beam (9.775), floor (9.85) and the all-around (38.875). Anya Olson of Brown was the uneven bars winner with a 9.70.
 
Cortland will compete at the NCGA East Championships at Brockport on Sunday, March 19. The top three team finishers will advance to the NCGA national championships March 31-April 1 at Wisconsin-Stout.
