Fans at Ithaca's Ben Light Gymnasium watch the wrestling and gymnastics competitions
ITHACA, N.Y. – Ithaca College defeated SUNY Cortland in both wrestling and women's gymnastics duals during the schools' "Rumble and Tumble" event that featured the two sports competing simultaneously at Ithaca's Ben Light Gymnasium. Ithaca's nationally third-ranked wrestling squad defeated the Red Dragons, 46-0, and the Bombers' gymnastics team posted a 190.825-185.80 victory.
The combination event was held between the schools for the second straight year. It was billed last year as "Beauty and the Beast" at Cortland.
Ithaca won the combined "Rumble and Tumble" team trophy by a 18-4 score under a system that awarded one point for each wrestling win and one point for each top-three gymnastics finish.
