SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - The Cortland women's gymnastics team posted a season-high team score in a 188.70-187.00 dual-meet loss at Springfield College.

The Red Dragons scored season-best scores of 47.525 on vault and 46.675 on bars and led 94.20-93.375 after two rotations. The host Pride, however, outscored Cortland 47.10-44.70 on balance beam and held a slight 48.225-48.10 edge on floor exercise.

Rachel Filipski (Lancaster) led Cortland's sweep of the top four spots on vault with a 9.625. Lily Szafranski (Williamsville/Williamsville South) was second with a 9.55, followed by Bailey Gildemeyer (Liverpool/Cicero-North Syracuse) with a 9.525 and Emma Schulz (Poughquag/Arlington) with a 9.50.

Sidney McConnell (Winchester, CA/Vista Murrieta) tied for first on uneven bars with a 9.70. Arianna Turso (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) was fourth (9.325) and Ashley Scarantino (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) placed fifth (career-high 9.30).

Schulz was Cortland's top performer on beam and floor. She tied for fourth on beam with a 9.30 and tied for second on floor with a career-best 9.775. Szafranski finished fourth on floor (9.70), followed by Gildemeyer in fifth place (9.675).

Springfield, coached by former Cortland gymnast Jenn Najuch, was led by Jessica Clemens' win on beam (9.675) and Tali Twomey's victory on floor (9.825). Briana Kerr shared first place with Schulz on beam (9.70), and Clemens scored a 35.725 as the meet's lone all-around competitor.

Cortland will return home to host Rhode Island College next Sunday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m.
