THE SUNY CORTLAND C-CLUB IS COMMITTED TO:
SUPPORTING SUNY CORTLAND ATHLETICS
The C-Club sponsors receptions at home and at some away sporting events for its intercollegiate teams. It helps recognize outstanding teams and individual performers by providing awards of excellence for both men and women athletes. The C-Club also sponsors the annual Athletic Awards Banquet, honoring over 600 student/athletes. Finally, graduating senior student-athletes receive a gift from the C-Club commemorating their time at Cortland.
Other possible support areas include: sponsorship of sports clinics, coach's education and development activities and sports team travel to special events.
PERPETUATING THE C-CLUB HALL OF FAME
The C-Club Hall of Fame started in 1969 and boasts more than 200 members. Individual pictures of the current induction class are proudly displayed on the wall of our Hall of Fame Room in the Park Center on the College campus. Photos of all members are displayed on the 'wall of fame', also in the Park Center.
The C-Club, in cooperation with the Athletic Office and the Office of Alumni Affairs, sponsors a gala Hall of Fame weekend each fall. During this event, new members of the Hall of Fame are inducted. In addition, members of Cortland's sports teams of distinction are often invited back to campus as well for a recognition ceremony. All in attendance enjoy the Saturday Induction Reception and Banquet and the 'special sports team members' also participate in their own special teams recognition banquet during the weekend.
Many members of the C-Club Hall of Fame have made it an annual practice to return to campus to attend the weekend activity. Many of these fine folks have also graciously sponsored over 100 current student/athletes to attend our Saturday evening induction dinner and be afforded the opportunity to interact with some of the College's athletic icons.
PRESERVING THE RICH ATHLETIC HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE
The C-Club sponsors fund raising activities which result in capturing and maintaining much of the College's rich history of Physical Education and Athletics. The Park Center's popular Hall of Fame room, a museum of memorabilia, was the product of a C-Club fund raising initiative several years ago.
