David Bleau served as a physical education teacher at Mount Pleasant High School in Schenectady and while there, coached varsity basketball and baseball. Dave also ran the David Bleau Basketball Camp during the summer.
Dave earned his master’s degree from Cortland, and is remembered for having established numerous records in basketball while an undergraduate. He had a career scoring record of 1,365, a season record of 601, and a single game record of 61 points. Dave was a Red Letter Award winner in basketball in 1964, was named most valuable player in the State University Conference in 1964, was named to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference All-East Division team for the 1963-64 season, and was named Athlete of the Year and Beta Sports King in 1964. Dave also set a Cortland high jump record while an undergraduate.
Dave taught physical education at Mt. Pleasant High School in Schenectady for 20 years (1966-1986). He also coached varsity basketball and baseball during his tenure at Mt. Pleasant.
Dave served as athletic director at Mohonasen School District from 1986 to 1996 and also administered athletics, physical education, health education, school physician, district nurses, and served as interim assistant principal in the middle school.
After retiring in 1996, Dave moved to Goodyear, Ariz., along with his wife, Caroline. He and his wife started a property management business called "Home Guardian" which currently has over 100 customers. Caroline also works at Luke AFB for Lockheed Martin.
