A respected leader in the field of adapted physical education, Gail Webster is president of the National Consortium for Physical Education and Recreation for Individuals with Disabilities. She is a past chair of the American Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) Adapted Physical Activity Council.

An associate professor of physical education at Kennesaw (Ga.) State College, she currently chairs the Consortium for Adapted Physical Education for the State of Georgia.

Webster, as a Cortland undergraduate, was a member of three Red Dragon volleyball teams that captured New York State championships. Co-captain as a senior, she was on the first Cortland volleyball unit selected to play in the national tournament. Webster also was a College representative to the National Conference on Woman's Intramurals. A native of Homer, N.Y., Webster earned a master's degree from Texas Women's University and Ed.D. in physical education from the University of Georgia. Between 1986 and 1991, she was an assistant professor at Northern Illinois University and Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

UPDATE- March, 2015: Webster retired from Kennesaw State University in December of 2006. She was an Associate Professor and the Coordinator for the Health and Physical Education teacher education program. In addition, she was the Assistant Chair of the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Sport Science.
