Kharmen Wingard

Kharmen Wingard, who also serves as a lecturer and an assistant for athletic administration, enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Red Dragons’ men’s basketball team in 2009-10. Prior to Cortland, Wingard was an assistant coach at Daemen College and a graduate assistant coach at Buffalo St.

Wingard played collegiately at Gannon University and Daemen College. While at Daemen, he earned first team All-American Mideast Conference (AMC) honors as a sophomore and second team All-AMC honors as a junior and senior. He graduated seventh in career scoring and second in career three-point field goals and helped lead the Wildcats to the NAIA Division II national tournament “elite eight” during his sophomore season.

Wingard, who earned a bachelor’s degree in social work at Daemen and a master’s degree in student personnel administration from Buffalo St., attended Bennett High School in Buffalo, N.Y. where he was a member of the basketball and cross country teams.
