Dustin Marshall (Newfield) recorded career highs of 26 points and nine assists as Cortland defeated visiting Potsdam, 75-62, in a SUNYAC matchup. The Red Dragons are 14-7 overall and 10-4 in the SUNYAC, a half game behind Brockport's 11-4 first-place record.
Marshall made 4-of-5 three-pointers and 10-of-13 overall field goal attempts. He also grabbed six rebounds and made three steals. Senior

Ben Nagle (Rochester/Aquinas Institute) added eight points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
Curtis Pierce (Brooklyn/George Westinghouse) led Potsdam (3-18, 2-12 SUNYAC) with 25 points. Olando Minott (Bronx/Samuel Gompers) finished with 11 points and Edward Cross (Loudonville/Shaker) hit 3-of-5 three-pointers and totaled nine points and four assists.
Cortland trailed only once at 2-0 and used an early 17-3 run to turn a 10-8 lead into a 27-11 score with 7:36 left in the first half. Marshall scored 10 points during the run, including a pair of three-pointers. The Red Dragons led 39-19 with 1:58 left, but Potsdam scored the last six points of the half and was within 39-25 at halftime.
The Bears were within 11 at 45-34 with 14:58 left on a Pierce layup, but Cortland pushed the lead back to 20 at 60-40 on a Marshall three-pointer with 8:53 remaining. Potsdam clawed back again and trailed 68-58 on a Pierce jumper with 3:50 remaining, but back-to-back baskets by junior
