Joe finished first in the heavyweight weight class at the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Championships on Saturday in Oswego. With the title, he earned his first trip to the NCAA Division III Championships March 6-7 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Murphy won his first match by pin, then posted 8-1 decisions in both the semifinals and finals. He leads Cortland in victories this season with his 35-12 record.
