Vanessa finished in 13th place out of 186 runners at the Roberts Wesleyan Harry F. Anderson Invitational. She covered the 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes, 59.6 seconds. Burkard was the seventh fastest Division III runner in the race, and she helped Cortland finish sixth in the final team standings.
