Amarian broke a 40-year-old school record in the triple jump with his winning leap of 15.19 meters (49’ 10”) at the Cortland Classic. He broke the previous mark of 15.13 meters set by Mark Therrien in 1983. Hughes currently ranks second nationally in Division III with the effort.
