Liam made an inspirational return to competition after being out almost two years after being diagnosed with leukemia in January 2024 and going through chemotherapy and other treatments. He finished in 82nd place out of 135 runners at the St. John Fisher Rodenbeck Invitational in 22:03.6 over 6,000 meters.
