John caught five passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns in Cortland's season-opening 28-12 victory over visiting Buffalo State. He scored on a 26-yard screen pass in the second quarter and on a 12-yard catch in the third quarter. Babin was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Offensive Player of the Week.
