Brian earned Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Wrestler of the Week honors after finishing second at 141 pounds at the New York State Collegiate Championships at Cornell. Seeded second, he won his first three matches, including victories over the seventh and third seeds, before losing in the finals to the top seed and tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler from Div. I Univ. at Buffalo. Earlier in the week, Bistis pinned his opponent in 48 seconds in Cortland's 25-12 dual-meet win vs. Oneonta.
