Tyler set a new school record in the weight throw with a distance of 16.28 meters (53 feet, 5 inches) at the Ithaca College Quad Meet. He finished second in the event and qualified for the ECAC Div. III Championships with the effort, which is currently ranked eighth nationally in Div. III. Prendergast also placed fifth in the shot put at 13.38 meters (43 feet, 10.75 inches).
