In his first collegiate start, Tyler passed for 400 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-28 loss to Buffalo State. He became only the third player in school history to throw for at least 400 yards in a game. He threw a 58-yard TD pass in the first half and 74-yard and 14-yard scoring passes in the second half.
