Mary finished in first place out of 223 runners at the Roberts Wesleyan Harry F. Anderson Invitational. She completed the 5,000-meter course in 18:18.1, more than four seconds faster than the runner-up. Baughman's performance helped Cortland claim the team title in a field of 21 schools.
