J.P. finished first at 174 pounds at the season-opening King's College Ted McGinley Wrestling Invitational. He posted a 4-0 record at the tournament with a technical fall and two pins, followed by a win by injury default in the championship match. Puca was one of seven place-winners for the Red Dragons, who finished third in the team standings.
