Alexis Blanco begins his second season on the Cortland wrestling staff in 2017-18. Blanco was a junior college national qualifier at 149 pounds at Nassau Community College prior to attending Cortland, where he was a member of the wrestling program during the 2015-16 season.
Blanco served as an assistant coach for the Brentwood Wrestling Club from 2013-16. The program produced five NHSCA All-Americans and multiple all-state student-athletes in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling during his tenure.
A native of Brentwood, N.Y., Blanco was a two-time league champion and state finalist at Brentwood High. He is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in biomedical science at Cortland.
