Jacob Burchfield enters his second season as a graduate assistant coach for the Red Dragons in 2020-21. Prior to Cortland, Burchfield coached at the Stanford International Swim Camp in 2018 and 2019 and the Bauerle Bulldog Swim Camp at University of Georgia in 2019.

Burchfield is a 2019 graduate of Wisconsin-La Crosse where he earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology with a minor in sociology. A three-time All-American at Wisconsin-La Crosse, Burchfield was part of four school-record relays and holds individual school records in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle. In his final season, Burchfield was acknowledged as the 2018-2019 Wisconsin-La Crosse Athlete of the Year.

A Minnesota native, Burchfield graduated in 2015 from Lakeville North High School where he was a six-year member of the swimming and diving team.
